Now I only heard about this through the grapevine, but there is a burger joint that would be willing to knock your socks right off, but first be forewarned..
(1) If you're looking for a garden-burger or some cardboard heat lamped patties, I ask you to stop reading the blog, right this very second. we won't find it here.
Now if you do decide to continue the only other warning I have to offer you is,
(2) If you are allergic to peanuts, this is also where you should stop reading because they basically cook the French Fries in peanut oil, I know it just isn't fair, but I'll tell you why you should care.
Now if we have gotten this far, and willing to continue...
Five guys came to my attention when my cousin commented it on facebook, saying that they were opening a franchise up near the neighborhood I grew up in. Now I know if I would of asked my cousin what's Five Guys all about, he would of called me a chod, and say exactly, "What?! You never heard of Five Guys before???" Thinking that wouldn't be the route to go, I asked the Burger Gurus in the circle of friends I have, and low and behold only one of them have ever heard and experienced Five Guys Burgers and Fries.
Even though some of my answers were answered, I still needed to search to see if it was going to be worth my time, & money. So then I turned to the internet for more guidance. From that point on, I would come across article, after article, claiming that Five Guys was true to it's word, and is the best burger in the U.S. There was only one way to be sure..
And truthfully, the bottom line is, Yes, BUT... only to a point, now before you jump down my throat cause you're the avid fan of the franchise, understand this; the basic fundamentals of a good burger isn't the meat, or the meat to bun ratio, but the ability of customization, to have to each own, desired taste. Which begs to differ, how many types of tastes can Five Guys Burgers & Fries quench? Nearly all of them, but you say, Why not all of them? I say look to the 2 fore warnings stated in the beginning of this blog. Exactly, there are still people out there who will settle for heat lamped "beef" burgers.

A regular Five Guys burger, starts off as a serving of two (2) patties, ( there is a serving with one (1) patty labeled "little burger") with the basic option of plain, cheese, bacon, & bacon w/ cheese. And not forget the shit load of optional condiments some upon requested, to load up on. I of course went for the gusto, Regular Bacon Cheese for $6.59 and my heart is paying for it as I tap these keys.

Now I mentioned the french fries, and probably going to continue mentioning the french fries, because they are simply delicious, goodness as my co-worker put it after I told him I had Five Guys Burgers & Fries for the first time tonight. Cajun flavor is possibly a not so spicy seasoning, that would go great on everything it touches, and it only made sense that a fried cut potato could hold its Cajun spice flavor after being fried in peanut oil. I know it's heart breaking if you're allergic, I wish there could be any other way, but honestly if it was would cooked in other oil would we still taste the flavor we do now as it is? The regular serving is a more than generous portion of fries & I couldn't finish them as easy as any other fast food fries and was taken back by how good they are, I'm not really a french fry guy to begin with.
I know, I know to good to be true right? and you wouldn't be kidding if you think that you'd be escaping without a price right? Well when I purchased the meal and everything was all said and done, I was looking at a $12 dollar meal, burger, fries and 16oz. drink with free refills. Some of you might say this doesn't seem to be so much, and then there are other people who are outraged that I actually paid that much for fast food. And this would be where I would end the blog and suggest for you to try out for yourself, because in truth there's only one way to find out!
