Chicago Comic- Con 2009 Day: 1 Thursday the 6th
Thursday, August, 6th
2009

Premiere night. So the masses begin to gather, looking and
looking to see what’s fresh at this year’s Chicago Comic Book Convention. No
surprise that the talk of the weekend is going to be, guest of honor, Mark
Millar. Briefly he is known for his writing on the comic book: Kick Ass &
in recent history, Wanted, in which they made a major motion picture loosely
based upon. Amongst other things, G.I Joe is also going to premiere in theaters
this weekend, and no to forget the multitude of guests and stars to appear at
the convention as well.
With a weekend chalked up to entertain the world of fantasy
and sci-fi alike, Comic Con promises to satisfy even the most wicked, of super
hero hungers. The only question is, in this recession ill-ed economy, will
Comic- Con break the bank? Or will it just break our wallets instead?
Parking on Thursday was $13.00 … CAUTION, rest of the weekend it may end up to
be more, check surrounding parking garages for varied rates.

As you adventure pass the lobby hall
onto the convention floor remember that the flow of traffic will always seem
chaotic. Lines form for booths and signing that stretch an insane amount of
room, don’t forget to be courteous to your fellow Convention Enthusiasts.
Most exhibitors open with a wide garden variety of comics
and graphic trade backs well below cover price. With their premiere comics
standing at just exclusive hard-cover or variant prices.
Even though it’s Thursday, a select few artists, and guests
came to artist alley, and began taking commissions, sketches, and autographs to
get ahead start for the things to come. More so is the fact that every artist
is hungry for their shot or their net big pay check, mind you, pockets may have
to dig deep, for the artists are not giving their talent away for free.
Rules by the staff and help may run on a more strict, than
usual basis. Follow the rules, and enjoy the Chicago Comic- Con 2009.
